FINDING JOY
Joy’s fondest childhood memories are of sitting on her gramma’s lap learning to drum, to speak Mohawk, and to be a storyteller. When she lost her gramma and her connection to her Mohawks roots when she was eight, Joy used her stories to keep her gramma close to her heart. Years later, with a husband and triplets, Joy slowly gives up pieces of herself to take care of her family, including becoming her husband’s full-time caregiver as a mysterious illness overtakes his body. Shortly after his death, her daughters move away for school, and Joy finds herself with no one to take care of for the first time in almost two decades.
Lost and alone, Joy turns to television and social media to mask her pain. Following an intervention by her daughters, Joy slowly embarks on a journey of self-discovery to heal her heart and find her true self again.

I sat in a chair with this view at Peggy’s Cove to write over half of the book. These are the rocks on the cover of the book. Peggy’s Cove is my magical writing spot!! With this view, it’s easy to see why. As soon as I sit down, my fingers start flying across the keyboard!

Another almost quarter of the book was written while I sat ocean-side in Hawaii. I love to write while I feel the ocean breeze around me!

Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2024This book will have you so engulfed in every character that it will be hard to put it down. I laughed, I cried, and I had a rollercoaster ride like no other while reading this book. The way the author was able to go from the past to the present was genius. If you don’t cry several times during this book then you must not be alive. Truly an emotional ride from the first chapter to the last. Absolutely love how the author included her journal entries into the book. Can’t say enough good things about this book. I truly couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended it to anyone who wants to go on an amazing journey with and amazing family of which there are triplets that I feel I watched grow up right before my eyes.Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2024Finding Joy is an amazing story about a Mom who learns how to survive loss and challenges. As I read the book so many different feelings were tapped that made me recall my own loss and struggles. A well written book filled with imagination, unconditional love, strength and tons of emotions. This amazing story will make the reader think about their own life, relationships and achievements. I love how Joy admits she had lost her self, her passion and her joy only to rediscover it simply because she knew she was meant for more! The author has a wonderful way of sharing emotions, experiences and expectations all at the same time.Brenda Dube5.0 out of 5 stars A very good book to readReviewed in Canada on May 15, 2024I have just finished reading Finding Joy , the latest book by Author Tara White.
This book had me from chapter one and kept pulling me back in chapter after chapter. I enjoyed the way the highs of her life and then the lows were all handled with such strength and how things was explained by giving the earlier life experiences for us.
I was deeply moved by the struggles and how friends and family are such a large part of her healing , so true to life.
The story left nothing unanswered and finished up leaving me looking forward to more .Kindle Customer5.0 out of 5 stars I highly recommend Finding JoyReviewed in Canada on May 11, 2024I loved every minute I spent reading Finding Joy! I joined the main character, Joy, on her journey, crying with her in her grief and celebrating with her in her triumphs. The characters were beautifully developed and her story kept me captivated. I loved the reflections to the past and how they contributed to the story and Joy’s internal struggles. My heart went out to Joy as she struggled her way through grief and her journey to pull herself from darkness to find joy and happiness again. I highly recommend ‘Finding Joy’.
